About

Simone Ember is a contemporary artist based in Brighton, East Sussex. Her work is inspired by the shapes and forms found in elements of natural landscapes, through which she hopes to inspire others to reconnect with nature along with the benefits this can bring to health and wellbeing.

Intentionally reductive, her paintings sit within deliberate landscapes of negative space. Each brush stroke is a meditative process, reflecting on the calm and simplicity the mind is transported to when in nature. Drawing inspiration from travel and walks in the English countryside, a subdued colour palette further conveys the sense of balance achieved through this restraint.

Her work has been exhibited widely in London, including a solo exhibition at Curious Duke Gallery (2017), along with group shows nationally and internationally, including Hong Kong, San Francisco and Seattle. Her work has been featured in Wired, Livingetc, Creative Review, and Homes & Gardens and is held in private collections across the world, including the UK, Paris, Hong Kong, New York, Florida, Vancouver and Barcelona.
